Elkanemi Warriors FC, Maiduguri approach the semi final match against Kebbi United with all their best to dominate the first half of the match which they created more than three glaring scoring chances with the first lost by Jacob Jonathan in the 16 minutes.
Jacob also lost a 40 minute one-on-one tapping opportunity which was saved by the United goalkeeper.
Elkanemi attack kept missing scoring chances which they ordinarily covert in their previous matches.
The first half ended goalless and so also the second half which dragged the match into penalty shootouts.
Yobo took the first kick for Elkanemi and scored to level United’s first kick that was scored.
Kebbi United second kick was saved with one hand by Elkanemi keeper Abine George, and that second kick was the only lost kick of the day in Abuja goal project semi final.

They continued scoring up to the last kick of Elkanemi Warriors by young Risalanu Ismail which gave Elkanemi the winning goal that was followed with victory celebration from Elkanemi players, officials and fans. The match ended 4-5 in favour of Elkanemi.
Speaking after the game, Borno State sports commissioner, Hon Sainna Buba said he appreciates the Borno State Governor and club mentor, Professor Babagana Zulum for providing all their needs.
He assured that the club is going to beat Abia Warriors in the final after beating Kano Pillars in the other semi-finals.
He pointed out that the Governor and all supporters with sports-loving people of Borno State are behind Elkanemi.
The commissioner informed the journalists that there is peace in Borno and that was buttressed by the league matches we played in Maiduguri to qualify to Premier League.
Also speaking after the match, the team technical advisor, Coach Aliyu Zubairu said there is no secret in his team’s victory but hard work, considering the length of the league we followed through after that, the boys went to the Super 8 in Enugu and that prepared them.
Elkanemi will play Abia Warriors in the final match of the Federation Cup on 29 June 2024 in MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
