FG urged to sustain training of LG stakeholders in peace building

A Professor of International Relations and Conflict Resolution at the University of Jos, Professor Shedrack Best, has urged the Federal Government to sustained training of local government stakeholders on peace building.
He said by so doing, peace, unity and cordial harmony will be entrenched in their communities.
The professor spoke at an interaction with newsmen in Lafia Friday at the sidelines of a 3-day training on peace, conflict management for traditional rulers, district heads, local government chairmen, their deputies and councilors.
According to him, those at the grassroots have vital roles in resolving conflicts and entrenching peace.
He stressed that peace was not a responsibility for leaders and governments alone but everyone at the grassroots hence the need to participate in one way or the other in efforts to promote peace and unity in communities across the country.
