FGN commends NDE as it relocates from rented building to its permanent headquarters before December

Honourable Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha, Minister of State, Ministry of Labour and Employment, has disclosed that the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) Headquarters in Wuse, will relocate from a rented building to its new permanent building at Gudu, Garki Abuja before the end of this year.
She made the disclosure when she and the Minister went on an assessment tour of the ongoing project on Tuesday.
According to her, “I have being monitoring and supervising the development of the project for two years and I am happy with the development.
“This building is timely as a legacy because, many government offices are renting, due to adjustments, I am moving from my office to another office on a different floor in the Federal Secretariat.
“When there is need, the Minister and department of agencies of the ministry can move to this NDE building pending when they also have their own permanent building.
“We want to inform the relevant government agencies like the Ministry of Finance to release find for the project to be completed, soon.” She said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister said, “I am happy that His Excellency Silas Agara, Director General of the NDE who we share the same ideal of leaving a legacy as supporters of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Federal government would save cost on this project by ending payment of rent for a private property to having a permanent office that is owned by the directorate in particular and the federal government in general.
“My assessment of the project is timely, I have been briefed by the consultant and the contractor that the seven storey building is ninety percent completed. Now, three storey buildings could be occupied by December this year.” He said.
In his response, the DG of NDE, Honourable Silas Ali Agara said, ‘I and thankful for the support NDE is getting from the Ministry of Labour towards having a befitting permanent headquarters that is public owned instead of being in a privately owned and rent paying building.
“I want us to develop Nigeria by reducing the cost of governance and dedicate ourselves towards growth and development of the country by training and empowering the younger generation,” Agara said.
