Former Nigeria President, Obasanjo in Yola on condolence, commends Adamawa Governor, Fintiri for developing the state

A former Nigeria President, Olusegun Obasanjo has joined throng of Nigerians who have visited Yola, capital of Adamawa State to condole with the people of the state over the death of an elderly statesman, Ahmed Joda.

Chief Obasanjo joined a three-day Fidau prayer in respect of the death of Alhaji Joda, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary held on Monday at the family compound of the deceased in Yola town.

The Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Yola, Khadi Ahmadu Bobboi led the various prayers that were offered for the repose of the soul of Alhaji Ahmed Joda.

Condoling the family, government and people of Adamawa after the Friday prayers, the former President described the demise of Joda as a monumental loss not only to Adamawa but Nigeria as a whole.

Obasanjo who was received by the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, also commended the governor for his development stride in Adamawa State.

The former President was particularly elated by the construction of a flyover bridge in Yola.

He lauded the infrastructural development he saw in which according to him has transformed Yola.

The former President was accompanied to the airport by Governor Fintiri and other senior government officials to bid him farewell from Yola.
