Former Rivers, Plateau military administrator, Col. Musa Sheikh Shehu dies in Abuja

A former Military Administrator of Rivers and Plateau states, Colonel Musa Sheikh Shehu (rtd) has died.
According to Colonel Aliyu Abdu (rtd), “Colonel Musa Sheikh Shehu died in Abuja. He hails from Wurno Local Government in Sokoto State.
“He has been buried according to Islamic rites in Abuja on Sunday afternoon.”
According to Colonel Abdu, the late Colonel became the Military Administrator of Rivers State from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha and later the Military Administrator of Plateau State until the return to democracy in May, 1999.
He said the late Colonel Shehu remained politically active after retirement in 1999. In 2001, he was among former military administrators who formed the United Nigeria Development Forum, (UNDF), a political pressure group.
In 2010, Shehu was Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum, (ACF ) an influential group of Northern Nigerian leaders
As Governor of Rivers State, he was preceded by Colonel Dauda Kumo and succeeded by Sam Ewang from August 1996 to August 1998.
While as Administrator of Plateau State, he was preceded by Colonel Habibu Idris Shuaibu and succeeded by Governor Joshua Dariye in 1999.
His administration was probed by the new administration of Governor Joshua Dariye under the Senator Venmark Dandin Administrative Commission of Inquiry but he was not found wanting.
At the time of the coup of 27 August 1985, when General Ibrahim Babangida came to power, Captain (then) Musa Shehu played a supporting role as second in command of the Recce Battalion in Jos.
In there condolences, retired military Officers: Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin, Air Vice Marshall Haruna Umar Muhammad and Colonel Abdallah prayed for the departed Colonel.
While associates of the late Colonel, Alhaji Musa Usman and Alhaji Abdullahi Ladan said the late Colonel was a gentleman who has assisted many people and pray for the repose of his sole.
He was survived by a wife and children.
