The Chief Medical Director of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, (JUTH), Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda have alerted the public that his social media handles are being cloned by criminal elements for the purpose to dupe.
He cried out over this dubious acts; insisting strongly that the move was definitely for the purpose to defraud the public using his name and status.
The actuvities of fraudsters is an issue that is targetted at people of high standings and the innocent victims sometimes fall for it and in the process, they are duped of monies.
Releasing the fake Facebook accounts; all bearing his name and pictures, being put to use by the fraudsters for identification, he warned his friends that these accounts were criminally created to “deceive and eventually dupe innocent people”
According to him, “dear Facebook friends, the following Facebook accounts, with my pictures as profile pictures, are fake accounts, created by criminals to deceive and eventually dupe innocent people.
“They always claim that I have a job and I want people to handle for me. Therefore, they should private chat me on a particular number that’s not mine. Please unfriend all the accounts and report them to Facebook as fake accounts” he stated.
In addition, he emphasised that the “criminals that created fake accounts with my pictures and name, are recruiting people by sending friend request, and accepting them as friends, thinking they are communicating with me, in order to dupe them.
“Please kindly help me circulate the fake accounts with my pictures, report them as fake accounts, and unfriend them” he warned and pleaded with the public if they come across any of the fake accounts.
