The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Hausa Service of Radio France International, Malam Garba Aliyu Zaria is dead.

The Service Editor-in-Chief, Bashir Ibrahim Idris made the announcement on his Facebook timeline Sunday morning. Garba has worked with Radio Nigeria and has worked in Maiduguri before joining Radio France. He was fondly called “Service Chief” by his colleagues in Maiduguri.

Idris in the announcement said: “Innalillahi wa innailaihi rajiun. With heavy heart, I regret to announce the death of our esteemed colleague at RFI Hausa and my Deputy, Garba Aliyu Zaria. This is a huge lost for all of us. May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, fortified his family and all of us and as well grant him Aljannah Firdaus!”
