‘Na Our Papa Be This O!, We No Get Any Other Papa O, Na Our Papa Be This O!
The emotional rendition of this deeply moving song by massive, tearful crowds of people especially women, youths and children at the pulling out ceremony of General Christopher Gwabin Musa, erstwhile Chief of Defence Staff is a glaring testimony of the overwhelming success of the non-kinetic strategy adopted by the eminent general in his epochal war against terrorism, insurgency, banditry and other anti-social crimes afflicting the nation.
The deliberate empowerment of millions of civilians through financial, commercial, agricultural, vocational and skills acquisition incentives throughout the nation by General Christopher Musa’s thoughtful non-kinetic calculus has gone a long way towards turning the civilian population against the terrorists and criminals in their midst thus exposing their hideouts to merciless strikes by Gen Musa’s gallant troop formations.
Traders, farmers, market women, artisans, transporters, fishermen, pressmen, indeed the whole gamut of civil society benefited immensely from the financial incentives doled out through the non-kinetic policy adopted by the Chief of Defence Staff Emeritus.
Businesses thrived and skilled occupations flourished as they received cash grants to move them to the next level in the crucial scheme of things.
Widows, youths, orphans, the indigent, the physically challenged and other vulnerable segments of society also benefitted tremendously from the soft power policies initialled by a benevolent General Christopher Musa, an erudite war historian who coopted civilian pacification strategies adopted by the British successfully in Malaya (now Malaysia) and the Americans, partially successful in Vietnam to checkmate the insurgencies that flared up in the ’50s and ’60s.
However, anyone in doubt as to the resounding success of Gen Christopher Musa’s non-kinetic desiderata need only hear the touching ‘Na Our Papa Be This’ song rendered by tearful, weeping adults, youths, women and children from all geopolitical zones to be convinced of the vast scope, reach, breadth and effect of this humane civilian-based approach to combating multi-faceted crimes.
Fittingly, hundreds of thousands of youths were discouraged from towing the dastardly path of terrorism, banditry, insurgency and militancy due to the non-kinetic formula incubated by the supremely foresighted General Musa who in the process rescued a lot of lives that may well have been wasted by the superior firepower of our gallant men and women in uniform.
Notwithstanding the reasons advanced for his retirement, which millions remain unconvinced of, there is no doubt that the tough, ruthlessly uncompromising but equally charitable and charismatic General Christopher Musa has irredeemably won the hearts and minds of millions of his civilian compatriots during his fruitful, fortuitous and ultimately fulfilling sojourn in the patriotic service of his beloved fatherland.
Truly, General Christopher Gwabin Musa Na Our Papa Be This O!, We No Get Any Other Papa O, Na Our Papa Be This O!
To God be the Glory.
