General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) came, he saw, he conquered and he has returned with his head held high, his broad shoulders ramrod straight, his honour and integrity intact, his reputation unblemished and his resounding popularity among the rank and file soaring to greater heights.
Despite the flurry of official statements, reports and press releases from the ‘powers that be’ effecting to explain the reasons behind Gen Musa’s retirement, the plain truth is that no case of official misconduct or gross dereliction of duty has been proven against the utterly uncompromising, oustandingly courageous and thoroughly efficient commanding general who has proved his mettle and effectively discharged his mantle of leadership beyond reproach or reprise.
In short, Gen Christopher Musa was only retired for the sake of political expediency and other putative calculus that has nothing to do with his onerous job schedule which he has carried out credibly and efficiently and in accordance with internationally acclaimed military tactics and strategies.
Gen Christopher Musa decisively defeated the insurgents, bandits and terrorists who once held the entire nation to ransom and he deftly neutralized and scattered them to the winds thus earning deserved accolades, garlands and commendations from far and near, high and humble.
ln the security sphere, Gen Musa performed outstandingly and thus cannot be faulted on any spurious grounds contrived to justify an already conjured course of action.
However, as they say man proposes while our Almighty Creator disposes and anyone present at Gen Christopher emotion-laden pulling out ceremony at Mogadishu Barracks on Friday, 31st October 2025 would be left in no doubt that the overwhelming majority of people believe that he did nothing untoward thar justifies his sudden retirement.
For the cheering crowds that tearfully sang: ‘Na Our Papa Be This, We No Get Any Other Papa’ it is manifestly clear that Gen Christopher Gwabin Musa is a soldier’s soldier, a gallant officer, a courageous fighter, a tough combatant and a benevolent warrior who positively transformed the welfare and well-being of his troops and their civilian compatriots beyond measure or comparison.
He has come, he has seen, he has conquered and he has returned with his honour, integrity reputation, and impeccable service record intact and untainted.
To God be the Glory.
