GOC, AIG emphasize synergy to tackle security threats in Cross River

The General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division of Nigeria Army, Major General OT. Olatoye and the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone six Police Command, AIG Mustapha Mohammed Bala have stressed on need for sister security agencies in the country to synergize in order to contain rising security threats in Cross River  and other states in Nigeria. 

Both made the emphasis when the GOC and his delegation called on the AIG in his office in Calabar,  capital of Cross River State yesterday.

Accompanied by the 13 Brigade Commander and other senior officers. the GOC was in the state  on a familiarization visits at the 13 Brigade area of operation.

The visit was to assess the operational readiness, challenges and successes within his area of operation. 

He said, he was aware of  the security threats in Cross River State, disclosing that the security agencies were capable of handling the threats.

He called on the sister agencies to enhance the existing synergy in order to be on top of any threats.

A statement signed. Y zone six PRO, ASP Obazi Edim quoted the GOV of saying, “There is serious needs for heads of security agencies especially the major stakeholders

in the state to constantly meet and collaborate.”

He appreciated the AIG for the warm reception. 

On his part, The AIG said Cross River is relatively peaceful but  expressed concern over the frequent conflict between the junior cadres of the two security agencies, praying for a good working relationship.

He also assured him of a peaceful co-existence, stressing that security was not a responsibility of one agency but a collective one.

 He promised to translate GOC’s message to the CP Cross River State Command to enable them achieve their collective goals.
