Gombe Commissioner of Police engages Gona Emirates communities, assures of enhanced security through effective community policing

Newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Hayatu Usman, who assumed duty on Monday November 13, 2023 as the 22nd as the helmsman carried out his first official engagement on Tuesday by organizing and attending a significant town hall security meeting in the Gona Emirate of the state. 

The meeting, which brought together community leaders from Tumfure, Tabra, and BCJ axis of Akko Local Government Area, aimed to address the rising criminal activities in the area and promote community participation through effective community policing.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the necessity of the meeting, as criminal activities, particularly in Tumfure quarters and surrounding areas, have been on the rise. 

He stressed the crucial role of community policing in engaging the general public and their leaders in providing vital information to law enforcement agencies. 

The Commissioner further assured the community members of his commitment to ensuring their safety and encouraged them to reach out to the police whenever the need arose.

During the meeting, various speakers expressed their appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for his presence and the opportunity to discuss the pressing issue of crime in the area.

They also pledged their unwavering support in the fight against criminal activities within their jurisdiction.

The Lamido of Gona, Alhaji Usman Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, commended the Commissioner of Police for his visit and assured him of the community’s collective assistance and cooperation in achieving a crime-free Gombe State.

The Gombe State Police Command has continue to remain steadfast in its commitment to maintaining law and order in all communities within its jurisdiction. 

The engagement with the Gona Emirate community marks the beginning of a collaborative effort between the police and the public to combat crime effectively.
