It has been observed that the last quarter of every year is often characterized with a surge in vehicular and human traffic and its attendant negative consequences have always been of concern to the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) and indeed the general public.
The observation was made by the Gombe State Sector Command of the FRSC in a press statement signed and issued by RC Janet KASSA, Public Education Officer, (PEO).
The PEO stated that as part of its response to the recurring experience, the FRSC steps up its sensitization and enforcement efforts geared towards stemming the ugly tides characteristic of the season with a view to ensuring that incidents are curtailed and where they occurred, responses could be activated urgently.
According to her, “Consequently, the Gombe State Command of the FRSC has scheduled this year’s flag-off for this campaign to hold on the 25th October, 2022 at the Emir’s Palace Gombe at 1000hrs” .
She added that the flag-off will be preceded with a Jumma’at Prayer at some selected Mosques and a Sunday Service at some selected Churches on Friday 21st October, 2022 and Sunday 23 October, 2022 respectively.
The aim is to create awareness for the flag-off and the season, in addition, a Rally involving stakeholders will be held on Monday, 24th October, 2022 through major streets in Gombe to create awareness preparatory to the flag-off as indicated.
Route Commander Janet Kassa further informed that there will be a press briefing at the end of the rally by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Felix The man.
Route Commander Janet Kassa implored members of the public to attend the flag as educative speeches, remarks and dramas from distinguished citizens and groups will be presented during the ceremony.
