Gombe Governor Yahaya hails AVM Yurkusi’s promotion in Nigerian Air Force

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has congratulated an illustrious son of the state, Henry Ngalaku Yurkusi on his recent promotion to the rank of Air Vice Marshal in the Nigerian Air Force.
In a statement, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described AVM Yurkusi as a dedicated and courageous Military officer who has tirelessly devoted his time and energy in the service of the nation and defence of the fatherland.
This was contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
Describing the promotion as well-deserved, Yahaya, hailed the recognition accorded to Gombe’s own in the Military ranks, urging Air Vice Marshal Yurkusi to view his elevation as a call for additional responsibility.
The Governor emphasized the principle that ‘with greater recognition comes greater expectations’, encouraging AVM Yurkusi to continue his exemplary service with even more dedication.
According to him, “This promotion is not just an honour for AVM Yurkusi but also a source of pride for Gombe State. We are confident that he will excel in his new capacity and mandate”.
The Governor added that, “On behalf of the government and the people of Gombe State, I extend our goodwill, solidarity, and best wishes to our dear brother and illustrious son on this well-deserved promotion”.
Born in Lapan, Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State, Air Vice Marshal Yurkusi brings a wealth of experience to his role.
Prior to his recent elevation, Air Vice Marshal Yurkusi served in various capacities in the Nigerian Air Force, including notable roles such as Commander 643 Equipment Supply Depot, NAF Ikeja, Deputy Director, Logistics Planning, Deputy Group Managing Director at Air Force Holding Company in Abuja, Deputy Director Planning in the Directorate of Policy Planning and Research Defence Airspace Administration and Dean Faculty of Social and Management Sciences/ Director of Logistics at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna.
AVM Yurkusi also served as the Deputy Director Procurement (Air) at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja from where he was promoted to the present rank of AVM, reflecting his versatile expertise in different areas of military operations.
