Gombe Line Sole Administrator says 53 obsolete vehicles repaired, reintroduced to fleet as firm contributes 70% internally generated revenue

The Managing Director/Sole Administrator of Gombe State Transport Service (Gombe Line), Dr. Sani Sabo, has declared that he has so far repaired 53 obsolete Vehicles he met on the ground just as the Company has contributed not less than 70% internally generated revenue to the State in three months since his assumption of office.
He made the disclosure during a press briefing at his office on Friday saying that under his watch, 53 obsolete vehicles were repaired and returned to the fleet, acquired new set of tires for 40 buses, and effectively combated corruption and blocked revenue leakages.
According to him, his reforms have improved the revenue being generated by the company, contributing between 60% to 70% of the monthly revenue generated by the state government.
Other accomplishments highlighted were the resolution of salary issues for workers and the establishment of a courier service to oversee waybill transport, aiming to curb losses and prevent drug trafficking.
He explained that due to the removal of fuel subsidy and in line with the desire of the State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Company has extended its travel services to various towns within the 11 local governments of the state including Dukku, Nafada, Bajoga and Dadin Kowa, promising to extend same service to Kashere and Billiri.
The MD/SA added that Gombe Line has also broadened its services within Gombe town and its surrounding areas, covering major routes while providing subsidized fair for students and the general public.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his unwavering support in the execution of reforms in the company, saying that plans are underway to digitally enhance the transportation system in line with the Governor’s desire while appealing for more support from the company staff, relevant stakeholders and members of the public.
