Gombe Police present N18.5m cheques to 25 families of deceased Officers

Gombe Police Commissioner, Oqua Etim presents cheque to one of the beneficiaries

Twenty-five families of deceased Police Officers in Gombe State Command have been presented with cheques of various amounts of money for their dead breadwinners. 

The State Police Commissioner, Oqua Etim made the presentation at  the Command Headquarters on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba under the IGP Family Welfare and Group Life Assurance Scheme. 

While presenting the cheques, Oqua Etim said that it has been a practice of the Police Force to not forget its  officers who died in the line of duty. 

He also admonished the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds in fulfilling their family needs just as he also prayed for the souls of the deceased officers to Rest In Peace. 

Ibrahim Atiku who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Leadership of the Nigerian Police Force for not forgetting them and relieving the pains of their fallen brothers.

He assured that the money will be used more importantly for the educational purposes of the children as well as other welfare issues of the members of the immediate families. 

The occasion was witnessed by families and friends of the beneficiaries who could not hold back tears rolling down their cheeks as contained in a statement by, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer.
