Gombe Sports Commission rehabilitates 2 boreholes at Pantami stadium

Worried by the problem of lack of adequate water supply to the Pantami Township Stadium complex due to broken down boreholes, Gombe State Sports Commission on Saturday began  rehabilitation works on the 2 broken down boreholes abandoned for over 6 years which used to serve as source of water to the stadium.
Speaking at the commencement of work, Chairman of the Gombe State sports commission, Mr. Olanre  Larry Daniel said that, “having observed the water problem and moreso owing to the fact that water is one of the basic criteria for a stadium operation and management, in view of its essentiality to drinking, prayers and encouragement and watering of the football pitch among others, the commission deemed it necessary to embarked on the rehabilitation work”.
He added that, “We have purchased the 2 submersible pump which was the major problem of the Boreholes,  acquired other requirements and employed  the Services of the State water Cooperation  to fix and service them for proper usage so that the issue of water will be tackled head long”. 
“Before now, we have been using water tanks to supply water which is very inadequate” Olanre noted.
The Commission Chairman  who was on hand with members of Staff also appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa for support in moving the State forward especially in the area of sport development.
He also noted that after the rehabilitation of the two Boreholes, piping of all the stadium would be thoroughly checked to ensure free flow and adequate water supply in the visinity.
Olanre Larry Daniel who assumed office recently assured doing everything  possible within available resource to improve the fortunes sports in the State.
