Traditional rulers in Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State led by Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Muazu Muhammad Kwairanga have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
This was done at the traditional leaders’ stakeholders meeting held at the palace of Emir of Funakaye in Bajoga town on Wednesday.
In a communique read  by the Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Muazu Muhammad Kwairanga, the Council stated that its decision was informed by the Governor’s commitment to carrying out meaningful projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the poor.
Emir Kwairanga told newsmen that aside the glaring developmental initiatives implemented by Inuwa’s administration, his government has also turned around the fortunes of traditional institution in the state through the upgrade of the traditional leaders’ levels and by implication reviewing upward their salary, allowances and other entitlements.
“Funakaye local government area has so far received some portion of its democratic benefit under Inuwa Yahaya’s administration in the areas of road construction, upgrade of schools and healthcare system especially the ongoing multimillion naira General hospital expansion project here in Bajoga”.
Earlier in his opening remarks, Chairman of the local government council, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Cheldu, described the stakeholders’ engagement as timely. assuring of his council’s preparedness to support the traditional rulers’ resolutions.
