Governor Otu elated over promotions of 4 Cross River indigenes as Assistant Inspector-General of Police, another as CDI

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has expressed happiness for the promotions of four citizens of the state as Assistant Inspectors General of Police, (AIG).
The new AIG from the state who the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun decorated yesterday include: Echeng Eworo Echeng, Okon E. Okon, Susan Ukpanukiema Horsefall and Odama Ojeka Paul.
The governor also commended President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of an indigene of the state, Major General Emmanuel Parker Akomaye Undiandeye, as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Ogbeche, Otu said, “We are particularly pleased that the president found a son of ours worthy for the sensitive position of Chief of Defence Intelligence.
“This speaks to the president’s knack for excellence, professionalism and inclusion.
“I remain confident that Cross River State and indeed the whole country is in for better times and as such every Nigerian should give their support to the federal government so that they can be witnesses to Hope Renewed as promised by our the President and the APC.
“From the far-reaching decisions that the president has taken such as the removal of fuel subsidy, Nigerians should be aware that every new beginning could have teething pains but in the long run, the gains are immense,” Otu said.
He charged Major General Undiandeye to see his elevation as a call to demonstrate loyalty, service and commitment.
Governor Otu also commended the Police Service Commission and the Acting Inspector General of Police for finding four citizens of the state worthy of such elevation.
He said the promotions are evidences that the State is on the rise, and used the occasion to charge citizens of the State to put in their best wherever they find themselves and serve as worthy ambassadors.
The Governor urged the officers to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law, urging them to display sound judgment, great strategic management, and operational abilities.
