Atiku declared that he has the required vast experience in governance, having been in the democratic struggle in the country for a long time.

He equally highlighted five key interrelated areas of attention namely: unity, security, economy, devolution of power and education.

He emphasised that national unity will again be achieved, by giving every part of the country a high sense of belonging by forming a government of national unity and that restructuring the country by devolving more powers to the regions and local governments will reduce pressure at the centre.

The former vice-president expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the meeting for inviting him.
This years NBA annual general meeting had in attendance the who-is- who, in the Nigerian legal profession. Also in attendance were the presidential candidates of the major political parties except the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate who was visibly absent.
