Governor Ayade confirms President Buhari’s visit to Cross River to commission rice, cocoa mills

Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross River State has confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari shall soon visit his state to commission three projects.

This would be the third time the president shall visit the state since he came to power in May 2015. He first visited the state in September 2015 when he performed the ground breaking for the Superhighway signature of Ayade’s administration.

According to Ayade who made the confirmation Thursday night during an interview in AIT, Buhari will commission the Vitaminised rice mill in Yala local government area of the state, the modern cocoa factory in Ikom LGA as well as newly completed Bekwara-Obanliku-Obudu dual carriageway way completed by his government.

Ayade said the three are parts of the 35 other factories his government has established inspite of being the number 35 state with the least federal allocation.

“The president will see a rice mill that’s completely new and different from the normal. It has a unit to fortify our rice which is basically starchy and without nutrients and protein with vitamins necessary for mental and physical growth in our children. The magnificence and Technology of the mill got mean award two weeks ago from the president whose rice policy I have expanded upon. I’m sure he president will be very proud of our achievements.”

The Governor did not however confirm the specific day the president would be visiting the state but he said his government has commenced elaborate preparation to welcome him to the state.

He said that it is in the place of governments to establish factories and businesses, like he has done, since they most often have the ready resources, and then hand over to private operators to run them.
