Governor Ayade’s aide pays educational bills of children in Atan Onoyong community

The Director Genetal of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has paid school fees and costs of stationery for over 200 children in both primary and secondary schools in Atan Onoyong community of Odukpani LGA of the state.
She pledged to adopt educational support as her additional core area of need as a way of advancing development in the community.
She disclosed her gesture when she participated in the annual Onoyong Day festival where she also presented gifts, including food items, medical equipment and other supports to her kinsmen.
“I am aware that we have many challenges here, but I know that for any society to grow, education of our people must be taken into full consideration, and that is why, I have decided today to offset the academic bills of all the children in this community and also provide them with stationeey to encourage parents to send their wards to school”.
The DG who arrived the Riverine Community via a ferry boat, said the items were made possible through the efforts of the state Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade.
Addressing the gathering made up of traditional chiefs, Ekpenyong noted that, the Government is more concerned on the welfare of its people as it has been demonstrated in the many interventions and human capital Development initiatives currently ongoing across the state .
Dr Ekpenyong further noted that she was on ground to sensitize and coordinate the day’s activities, especially in the area of health and safety of the people which includes: to ensure that there is compliance with the laid down Covid19 pandemic protocols and to raise awareness on the need to maintain consciousnes following Federal Government announces of the second wave of the Covid19 virus across the country.
Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Rulers, the clan head of Eniong, Chief Francis Effiom Idim applauded the DG for her show of love and magnanimity which he said is worth emulating.
He thanked the state Governor, Senator Ben Ayade for appointing their daughter and for the numerous good deeds all across the state.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke, described the act as a total show of love and selflessness which they say will linger in their heart for a very long time.
