Governor Kefas hosts Taraba stakeholders in Abuja, expresses successes, challenges

Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas hosted the second series of interactive sessions with critical stakeholders in Abuja and surroundings.
The interactive session at the Ladi Kwali Conference Hall of Continental Hotel, Abuja, brought together prominent figures from Taraba State, including former Governor Jolly Nyame, the Minister of State for Regional Development, Barrister Uba Maigari, Members of the National Assembly and Heads of Federal Agencies from Taraba State, Members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Special Advisers, and representatives of various Agencies in the State.
Welcoming the participants, Governor Kefas expressed gratitude for the opportunity to convene the meeting, which serves as a continuation of the State’s journey towards transformation.
The Governor emphasized that leadership is not merely about holding positions but adding value to the lives of the people and the sacrifices made to advance progress.
Dr. Kefas said although there were several challenges facing the state, including economic hardships, insecurity, and underutilized resources however noted that significant projects have been initiated, laying a solid foundation for the progress of Taraba State.
He said within his short time in office, he has engaged reputable partners, such as the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), to build critical infrastructure and enhance economic development of the state.
Governor Kefas also mentioned that the Dababa Suntai Airport in Jalingo is currently undergoing a complete remodeling, which is essential for improved connectivity and economic opportunities for the people.
Dr. Kefas expressed his appreciation for the Taraba elder Statesman, General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd) for his efforts in establishing an additional airport at the Kashimbila Dam saying that the ongoing dialogue and collaboration with the Danjuma Foundation would create long-term value for the state and accelerate its development.
He said that the 2025 budget has been crafted to propel the state forward, prioritizing key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure to ensure that every naira spent contributes to the well-being of the people.
He reassured attendees that adequate structures have been put in place to facilitate inclusive development and expanding collaboration with traditional institutions, security agencies, and local communities to establish joint intelligence-sharing networks aimed at enhancing security throughout the state.
Dr. Kefas asserted that Taraba is not a poor state as numerous opportunities exist for the progress of the people.
