Governor Okpebholo approves establishment of Edo Lottery Regulatory Commission

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the establishment of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission.
The Commission is conceived as the central regulatory body for all lottery, gaming, and related activities within the State.
This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
The primary objectives of the Commission are to provide a legal and institutional framework for regulating lottery and gaming operations in Edo State, ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in the conduct of lottery activities, safeguard the interests of participants and the general public by enforcing fair play and responsible gaming standards and generate revenue for the state through well-structured licensing and regulation of gaming operators.
In furtherance of this, the Governor has approved the appointment of Chairman and membership of the Commission. They Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye, Chairman while Dandy Imoukhuede Oserei, Elvis Uadiale and Ndidi Aghimien are appointed members with Hon. Habibat Yakubu as Secretary.
According to the statement, names of the nominees will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to creating a well-regulated gaming industry that protects consumers, enhances investor confidence, and contributes to the socio-economic development of Edo State.
