Governor Radda aide joins stakeholders dialogue on national electricity dialogue

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, ably represented by Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed, Special Adviser to Governor on Energy and Power attend the crucial National Economic Council (NEC) Ad-hoc Committee meeting on the National Electricity Strategy & Implementation Plan (NESIP) in Abuja.
The high-level session, chaired by Cross River State Governor Senator Bassey Otu at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat, brought together governors from Imo and Plateau States alongside the Ministers of Power, Budget and Economic Planning, and Finance to develop a roadmap for reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity nationwide.
“Our shared mission was clear—to develop a robust, actionable roadmap to ensure reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity reaches every corner of Nigeria,” Dr. Ahmed stated.
The meeting focused on strategic deliberation around the NESIP framework, ensuring alignment with national priorities while addressing specific state needs through infrastructure development, innovative financing, and renewable energy integration.
Dr. Ahmed emphasized the national consensus on power sector transformation, “The consensus was unanimous: achieving a stable power supply is not just a policy goal—it is a national imperative that will drive industrialization, create jobs, and significantly enhance the quality of life for millions of Nigerians.”
The Special Adviser highlighted Governor Radda’s unwavering commitment to the vision, noting that “His leadership continues to reflect a deep dedication to working alongside fellow governors and federal stakeholders to fast-track meaningful reforms in Nigeria’s power sector.
“With a unified national strategy and shared commitment, we are determined to light up Nigeria’s future—one policy, one investment, and one community at a time,” Dr. Ahmed concluded expressing optimism about the committee’s progress toward finalizing and implementing NESIP.
