Governor Radda extols Zakari on elevation to Assistant Commander General of NDLEA

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated Ahmed Idris Zakari on his well-deserved promotion to the rank of Assistant Commander General of Narcotics in the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), describing the achievement as a milestone for both the officer and Katsina State.

Governor Radda described the elevation as a testament to Zakari’s dedication, discipline, and outstanding contributions to the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Nigeria.

Until his recent promotion, Ahmed Idris Zakari served as Commander and Chairman, Special Monitoring Unit of the NDLEA, where he played key roles in strategic operations and institutional oversight.

A native of Katsina Local Government Area of Katsina State, Zakari holds a B.Sc. in Intelligence and Security Studies, an M.Sc. in Intelligence and Forensic Investigation, as well as an MBA in Strategic Operations. He studied at Novena University, Ogume, Delta State, and Lagos State University.

The newly promoted senior officer has also attended various professional courses both locally and internationally, further strengthening his expertise in narcotics control, security intelligence, and organizational leadership.

Speaking on the promotion, Governor Radda stated:

“This elevation is a proud moment for Katsina State. Ahmed Idris Zakari has demonstrated exceptional competence, integrity, and patriotism in the discharge of his responsibilities. His promotion is not only personal recognition but also an inspiration to our youth,”

The Governor added: “We are confident that in his new role as Assistant Commander General of Narcotics, he will continue to contribute meaningfully to national security, particularly in the ongoing efforts to rid our communities of drugs and related crimes.”

Governor Radda urged Zakari to see the promotion as a call to even greater service and responsibility, while remaining a worthy ambassador of Katsina State, noting that the government and people of the state will continue to support and pray for his success, Governor Radda stressed.
