Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to expanding rural infrastructure, strengthening basic social services, and improving the wellbeing of communities across the state.
He made this known today during a working visit to Dutsi Local Government Area, where he inspected ongoing interventions and interacted with residents and traditional leaders.
Governor Radda began the visit by performing the flag-off ceremony for two major road projects initiated by the Dutsi Local Government Council. The projects — the Sobashi–Munawa–Dan’aunai Road and the Tashar Dan’aunai–Dodar Road — are designed to “boost rural mobility, open up isolated communities, and stimulate socio-economic activities across the council.”
The Governor later visited the Palace of the District Head of Dutsi, where he briefed the royal father on ongoing state development initiatives. The District Head expressed appreciation for the administration’s respect for traditional institutions, while also appealing for additional roads and stressing the urgent need for potable water in several communities.
Responding, Governor Radda explained that earlier in the day, his administration had flagged off a 3.5-kilometre township road and a 17-kilometre feeder road being executed by the Local Government Chairman to improve access to farms, markets, and neighbouring settlements. He further noted that the Ingawa–Shargalle Road remains “a transformative investment that continues to enhance connectivity in the zone.”
On the issue of water scarcity, Governor Radda assured residents that providing safe drinking water remains a core priority for his administration. “We will collaborate with the Dutsi Local Government Council to deliver sustainable water solutions in the most affected communities,” he pledged.
Governor Radda also revealed that part of his visit was to seek prayers from religious leaders and the wider community for divine intervention over ongoing security challenges in parts of the state. According to him, “peace and security require unity, vigilance, and the collective support of all citizens.”
At the Dutsi Local Government Secretariat, the Governor held a stakeholders’ meeting involving traditional rulers, community representatives, political leaders, and youth groups.
The Chairman of Dutsi Local Government expressed gratitude for the state government’s continued interventions, including the Shargalle–Ingawa Road and the newly flagged-off projects.
In his remarks, Governor Radda reiterated that his administration remains committed to listening to the people and designing development priorities based on their genuine needs.
He emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) now has tangible achievements at all levels of government that can be confidently presented to the public.
The Governor thanked the people of Dutsi for their warm reception and steadfast support, assuring them that his administration will continue to deliver projects that positively impact their daily lives.
