Governor Radda says staff verification exercise aims at identifying vacancies, not victimisation

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has assured public servants that the ongoing staff verification exercise is not intended to victimize any worker, but to identify existing vacancies within the state’s public service.
The governor gave the assurance Thursday when he appeared before the verification committee in his office, as part of the ongoing statewide exercise.
Governor Radda explained that the primary objective of the exercise is to sanitise the civil service, eliminate irregularities, and ensure that only genuine workers remain on the government payroll.
He acknowledged that the process may be tedious for many staff, but stressed that it is a necessary step toward building a more efficient and transparent public service.
The governor noted that the verification exercise is designed to create a credible and accurate personnel database for the state, which will assist government planning and service delivery.
According to him, a reliable staff record is essential for effective governance, financial discipline, and the proper management of human resources across ministries, departments, and agencies.
Governor Radda urged all civil servants to cooperate fully with the committee assigned to carry out the exercise, assuring them of fairness and transparency throughout the process.
He emphasised that the exercise is being conducted in the interest of the state and its workforce, adding that genuine workers have nothing to fear.
The governor further maintained that the outcome of the exercise would open opportunities for the recruitment of more young and qualified people into the state civil service.
He said the move is part of his administration’s broader agenda to provide employment opportunities for youths and strengthen the capacity of the public sector.
Governor Radda reaffirmed his commitment to reforms that will promote accountability, efficiency, and professionalism in the state civil service.
He called on all stakeholders to support the exercise, noting that a well-structured and transparent workforce is key to achieving the development goals of the administration
Those in attendance were the Head of civil service Alhaji Falalu Bawale, chief of staff to the Governor Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Principal private secretary Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, And chairman of the exercise committee.
