Governor Soludo praises Mbadinuju’s vision at Ojukwu university’s 25th anniversary

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a combined convocation ceremony honoring graduates from the past five years.
The event, held at the Igbariam campus, included dignitaries, faculty, students, and alumni.
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo highlighted the university’s transformation since his administration began, emphasizing the need for public-private partnerships to accelerate development.
He also called for greater recognition of the university’s founder, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, suggesting a lasting tribute.
Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kate Omenugha praised COOU’s consistent academic calendar, a testament to the institution’s stability and commitment to academic excellence.
She expressed gratitude for Governor Soludo’s support and willingness to collaborate.
Pro-Chancellor Prof. Chidi Odinkalu stressed the importance of community engagement and forward-thinking in education, emphasizing the university’s commitment to both its heritage and its future.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, commended the Governor’s administration for its prioritization of education.
A key event was the conferment of an honorary doctorate in food science and nutrition upon Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the Governor’s wife, recognizing her contributions to the field and her “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo” initiative and Mrs. Soludo expressed her gratitude for the honor.
The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and other officials.
