Governor Soludo secures APGA nomination for 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election

Incumbent Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has secured the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) nomination for the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election.
In a primary election held Saturday at Awka’s Alex Ekwueme Square, Soludo, the sole candidate, received 3,168 votes out of 3,172 cast, with four votes deemed invalid.
Returning officer Uche Nwegbo declared Soludo the party’s candidate, citing compliance with INEC guidelines.
In his acceptance speech, Soludo thanked APGA members and expressed his commitment to continued service to the state.
He highlighted APGA’s dominance in Anambra politics, boasting of a peaceful and efficient primary election process.
The Governor emphasized the party’s achievements, including operating without debt, and promised even greater progress.
Governor Soludo also declared his intention to win all 21 local government areas and 326 wards in the upcoming election, aiming for a landslide victory.
Furthermore, Prof. Soludo announced the retention of his current Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, as his running mate for the 2025 election, echoing his previous sentiment, “If it is not broken, why mend it?”
