The Rector, top management members and staff of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa have perfected plans to host the institution’s 10th combined convocation on Saturday June 18, 2022.
Following the convocation ceremony as outlined in the programme of event, the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the Federal Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed, former Minister of Environment and Emir of Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim U.Jibrin and the former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, now monarch of Udege Chiefdom, Alhaji Halilu B Usman would be conferred with the fellowship of the federal polytechnic, Nasarawa.
Making known the convocation programme at a press briefing to mark the event, the Rector, Estate Surveyor, Dr Abdullahi Alhassn Ahmed on Thursday in the new conference Hall of the polytechnic new administration block said that the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa is one among the top ranking Polytechnics in Nigeria
He said the fact hinges on the availability of astute and intellectual human resources as well as the quality of graduates and other research breakthroughs recorded by the polytechnic over the years, especially in the fields of Agriculture,Technical and vocational education.
According to Dr Abdullahi Alhassn” Our focus since establishment has been towards achieving the objectives of the polytechnic which is tailored towards our vision of Moulding students to become disciplined,skilled and innovative for self actualization and national development.
” On behalf of the governing council, management, academic board,staff and students, I hereby invite the general public to the combined Convocation ceremony, covering 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2022 academic session, scheduled for Saturday by 10am at Ta’al sport complex of the polytechnic” he said.
Dr Abdullahi Alhassn,also pinted out that the Pre-convocation lecture will hold on Friday at the Muhammadu Buhari Hall by 3pm ,the lecture is titled: Equipping Nigerian Youths in Skills Acquisition for the 4th Industrial Revolution” to be delivered by a thorough bred academic , professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje,the Executive Secretary,National Board for Technical Education(NBTE)
The Rector further gave the breakdown of the graduands that will be presented for the convocation totaling 18,835,out of which 7,104 will be graduating as HND certificates holders ,while a total of 11,731 are with ND certificates.
Apex News Exclusive,report that the rector who was one among the pioneer student of the polytechnic, promised to ensure total commitment to the development of the institution,also added that the records of achievements has been without challenges which cut across fundings and human factors.
Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa is an award winning polytechnic ,where it came second in the country recently in the area of science exhibition hosted by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
