A group from the three senatorial districts of Adamawa State have endorsed former Governor of state, Senator Umaru Jibrilla Bindow as a governor to beat in the forthcoming 2023 election.
The advocacy is in line with the recent meeting convened by Sulaiman Yarima saying that he (Bindow) be allowed to serve his remaining four years so as to consolidate his robust and laudable developmental strides instituted in Yola the state capital.
Speaking as a group, Sulaiman Yerima urged all supporters to rally round the former governor including stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to support his return ahead 2023 general election.
The meeting according to Sulaiman Yerima, has representatives of all the three senatorial zones of the state with Titus Samaila representing Adamawa north, Tijjani Audu Mai Karfe, representing Adamawa south while Halidu Musa represented Adamawa central.
The think tank therefore appealed to stakeholders from the other two zones to rally behind the former governor in the spirit of stabilizing the political atmosphere as he has only for years to serve.
“Without doubt Bindow was the founding father of new Adamawa who in a short period transformed the state to enviable heights.
“Right now Bindow is the stabilizing force that will neutralize the clamour by other zones for power rotation.
“It will be easier for him to be allowed to consolidate the giant strides he initiated in the next four years so that his successor can start on a clean slate.
Yerima stated this swaling with journalists that, “Bindow has a formidable grassroots structure contacts and the machinery that will enable the party to wrest power from the PDP come 2023.”
