A Benue State socio-cultural group, under the auspices of OMI NY’ IGEDE Youth Wing Development Association (ONYWDA), has called on the Ogun State Police Command to investigate the gruesome murder of Mrs Gloria Ochong in the farm by yet to be identified assailants.

The call is contained in a statement by the President General of the Association, Comrade Cletus Aruta, and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Makurdi.

According to the statement, Mrs Ochong who hails from Adum East Council Ward in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State was allegedly murdered on January 15th, while working at her farm in Ilewo Orile, Abeokuta North, Ogun State.

The Association condemned in strong terms her gruesome killing and demanded justice.

It, therefore appealed to relevant security agencies, particularly Ogun State Police Command to urgently investigate the killing and bring the perpetrators to face the full wrath of the law.

“We are saddened by this reoccurring decimal, the unjust killings of our sons and daughters seeking livelihoods in other states.

“We condemned this in totality, and also demand justice for our beloved daughter, Mrs Gloria Ochong.

“We are calling on Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Ogun State Police Command and other relevant security agencies to immediately investigate this matter and bring the perpetrators to book,” the statement said.
