Group urges Youths Minister to engage youths in more advocacy
Dr Jamila Bio
Mr Franklin Ebere-Njoku has urged the Minister of Youths Development, Dr Jamila Bio to adequately educate youths on the activities of the President Bola Tinubu administration to enhance their social and economic wellbeing.
Ebere-Njoku, a member of the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), said doing so would reduce the disenchantment among young people towards the administration’s policies and programmes.
Ebere-Njoku, the spokesperson of TinubuAndNigeriaMustSucceedInitiative (TNMSI) said this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.
The TSO publicist said Tinubu might be forced to review the minister’s performance if what he described as ‘youth restiveness against Tinubu programmes continued.
He cited the “End bad governance’’ protest which he said could have been drastically minimised with more engagement with youths nation-wide.
He alleged that the agitated youths did not get encouraging feedback from the appropriate quarters in the build up to their protest.
He said this was not good enough given the sensitive nature of the planned protest and the calibre of people in related positions in the Tinubu government.
“The so called #EndBadGovernance protest that threatened the corporate existence of our country could have been avoided if the minister took proactive public measures.
“She could have done so by actively engaging the young people/organisers in her capacity’’, he said.
Ebere-Njoku reiterated the resolve of TSO to do everything within its legally-allowed powers to ensure that the Tinubu led administration succeeded.
The Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) played a significant role towards the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. (NAN)
