The Alhaji Bukola Saraki Campaign Organisation has solicited for supports from PDP supporters and other residents in Cross River State to enable its principal, former Senate President Bukola Saraki to actualise his aspiration to emerge as Nigeria’s president.

A group of elites, comprising university dons and some ex-governors who include former Kwara State governor, Senator Shaaba Lafiagi were in the state on yesterday to rub minds with leaders of the party in the state over the aspiration.

The group mentioned that if Saraki’s presidential aspiration is actualised in 2023, the economy and security situation of the nation which are now grossly disappointing, would be repositioned.

Leader of the campaign council, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, who is a one time Senator, former minister of Power and Steel, one time Nigeria Ambassador to Mexico, canvassed their principal is the only aspirant jostling for the presidential seat from the north central part of the country which has also not produced a president.

He said he has the capacity to turnaround the fortunes of the nation in 2023 and is also a link between the youths and the other generation.

“Bukola Saraki is highly educated. We cannot put an insensitive in such a position of authority. But a person who when you rejoice,he rejoices with you.

“We are not a monarchy. We want a young man who has the link between the youths and old.

“He is also somebody who have practicalized the 35 percent affirmative action.
“For us in the PDP the women are always in the same room with us. With Saraki women will take thier right pride of place.
“As a governor, the women tool thier 35 percent affirmative action. He will give Nigeria unity and in a proper position to stand for the oppressed.

“Bukola is here to answer to your fears, assuage to your pains.”

He said that the ruling APC remains the most beneficiary of the old PDP, boasting that the PDP has remained the political fulcrum of the country.

“The only place that is yet to benefit from zoning and where that opportunity should go to now is the north central.”
