Clergymen under the aegis of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN), a body of new generation Christian churches, have said they are committed to work for and deliver the candidate of PDP, Prof Sandy Onor at the Governorship Election of 11 March 2023 in Cross River State.
Chairman of PFN in the state, Pastor Lawrence Ekwok announced at a press conference held at headquarters of Assembllies of God Church Calabar
He said they have unanimously agreed to work for Prof Sandy Ojang Onor.
He said all leaders of PFN took a decision to participate actively in the emergence of a new political leadership in the state.
He said a strategy committee met and interviewed three governorship candidates of APC, PDP and PRP five times.
“We voted through secret ballots. A total of 429 leaders at h local government area level voted and PDP candidate scored 260 votes, APC candidate, Prince Bassey Otu scored 114 votes while the PRP candidate, Usani Usani had 47 votes from our internal exercise.”
“We’re therefore committed to mobilise our entire members to work for PDP candidate to emerge next governor of Cross River.
“We took this decision in the best interest if he state. Whether he loses or not, we have made our point. We did he same thing for Me Peter Obi of LP.”
