A lone gunman has attacked and killed a teacher, Mr. Auta Nasela and injured another person in Government Science School, Nasarawa Eggon in Nasarawa State.
Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, Alhaji Idris Danladi Odasko confirmed the incident.
According to him, “I received a report that on Saturday by 8pm, a lone gunman infiltrated and robbed a Teacher in the school, he ordered his first victim, Mr. Timothy Malle to surrender his belongings at gun point which he did.
“The gunman proceeded to the next plat robbed and shot Mr Auta Nasela to death.
“When the gunman came out and saw his first victim calling for help, he opened fire on Mr Timothy Malle and injured him, he has been admitted in hospital for treatment,” he said.
Alhaji Idris Odasko called on the people to be vigilant and call on criminals to desist before they are arrested and prosecuted.
It could be recalled that public and private schools in Nasarawa State have been shut over security threats. But some staff are residing in the staff quarters.
The DPO of Nasarawa Eggon was kidnapped recently in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government, he regained his freedom after the Local Government paid an undisclosed amount to the bandits.
When contacted, Police Spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident, but said that their personnel are investigating the incident before they submit a report.
He said that the command is yet to be informed about loss of life.
