She walked briskly into the venue of the event, wearing her trademark smile, breezing through handshakes and pleasantries.
Mrs Joy Ohiomero, Federal House of Representatives Candidate for Labour Party, seeking to represent Abuja South was greeted amidst thunderous cheers by party supporters and admirers who throng in numbers to witness unveiling of her campaign office, in Gwagwalada at the weekend.
The unveiling of her campaign office is also a major outing of the Labour Party in FCT South and would serve as a litmus test of the popularity of the party that presents the most popular flagbearer, Peter Obi to Nigerians comes 2023 election.

And it is confirmed, by the mammoth crowd, comprising the youth, women, the aged, across tribal and religious groups whose presence literary shutdown streets near the campaign office.
Just like the turn out, party supporters, officials and the general public at the event were not disappointed as Ohiomero fluently encapsulated her vision to rescue FCT South from the clutches of poverty, youth unemployment, insecurity through the mandated of law making. Her presentation dexterity, intellectual depth, growing competence, analytical skills and engaging ability was, perhaps, an indication that Joy Ohiomero
has the competence and passion to deliver quality lawmaking to benefit the people.
With the crowd and the success inherent, Ohiomero described by many as virtuous woman gave glory God while affirming the ubiquity of LP in FCT South. She said; “I am delighted that God made it possible for us to open my campaign office today and I believe as we have done this now, the Labour Party (LP) has come to stay in Abuja South Federal Constituency.”
She added; “It’s a great privilege and honour to be an instrument to bring Labour Party to the grassroot in Abuja South, I’m happy to see people from all parts of Abuja to be here this day to rejoice with me and I believe that God who has started the work will surely perfect it”
On her legislative agenda, having women, youth and children as the centre piece she said; “You know that my constituency, Abuja South is more of a rural area except Gwagwalada and Kuje; if you go to Abaji and Kwali you will find out that women are really suffering, there’s no good health care system for them, the youth have no jobs. After schooling you see them roaming around the street and hungry doing all sorts of menial jobs.
I believe as a mother, I know there challenges and how they feel, affects me.

“I’m going to make laws and oversight functions to better their lives because I know what it feels as a mother when you go home and you don’t have food and don’t know how to pay children school fees. And then the worst is the insecurity they are facing now.
I will make policies that impact the lives of women and children one of my top priorities so that our women can have some relieves because everything bows down to mothers in the homes”.
She assured the constituents about her candidacy and that of Peter Obi; “I like to tell my people of Abuja South Federal Constituency that with me every thing will turn around for good, they will see a new Abuja South and new Nigeria that they will enjoy, they will see great positive changes.
“I keep on saying that Mr Peter Obi is the Moses of our time, with him there and with the right leaders, the right Legislators; the people that he can work with, Nigeria will be great again. God has answered our prayers, come 2023 all of us will sing and dance of a better Nigeria”.
Highly exalted LP officials in FCT graced the occasion. They were, LP Abuja Chairman and deputies, FCT women Leader, all Council Chairmen of LP, women groups, Obi/Datti support groups among others. Highlights of the groundbreaking ceremony included, presentation of LP flag as well as commissioning of the campaign office.
