Having excelled in her trailblazing academic, professional and public service career, the cerebral Hajiya Fatima Umaru Shinkafi as Executive Secretary, Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF) is also renowned for her charitable and benevolent disposition having assisted quite a number of people from different walks of life in their diverse fields of endeavour.
One defining feature of the able Executive Secretary is her inborn desire to better the lot of the denizens of society regardless of tribe, section, creed or tongue.
The main concern of the altruistic Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi is bettering the lot of people and the society at large irrespective of ethnic, religious, linguistic or partisan affiliation.
In this regard, a compassionate Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi has special concern for the widows, the youths, the women, the children, the physically challenged and other vulnerable persons of society.
From provision of food items, monetary incentives, to beddings, clothings, scholarships and payment of WAEC, NECO and JAMB registration forms for indigent students, Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi has made her mark in line with her humanistic Great Society philosophy.
As an erudite scholar of history, politics and sociology, Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi is a keen admirer of the Great Society governance agenda of the famed United States President, Lyndon Johnson (1963-1969) who implemented numerous social programs in housing, health, education, employment, civil rights, food security etc to improve the lives of the poor, the blacks, the Hispanics, the Native Americans, the Asians and other less privileged of American society.
In her workplace, the collegial Hajiya Shinkafi has also taken the bull by the horns in raising the morale and productivity of her staff and management by improving their conditions of service as well as salaries and benefits which are paid as and when due.
Indeed, Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi is beloved of her staff who affectionally refer to her as ‘Mama Na’ or ‘Mummy’ as the case may be.
However her amiable and cordial disposition should not be taken for granted as Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi is as tough as nails and does not tolerate sloth, indolence or malingering in any form or manner.
The SMDF supremo’s zest for technical competence, professional excellence and exemplary performance is well documented and those who are ready to work are encouraged and promoted.
However, persistent laggards and chronic malcontents are well advised to either shape up or be shipped out, no more, no less.
Having delivered decisively in her holistic and landmark reforms that have restructured, repositioned and recalibrated the Solid Minerals Development Fund for a more credible and responsive service to the Nigerian people coupled with her acclaimed benevolent and compassionate disposition, it is of little wonder, that the venerable Hajiya Fatima Umaru Shinkafi has been delineated as the most superlative and sterling performing Executive Secretary of all times, both in Nigeria and beyond our shores.
May her dynasty shine for ever.
