Hon. Audu sworn-in as first female chairman of Fufore LG in Adamawa

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has broken the jinx and sworn in Hon. Peace Samson Audu as first female chairman of Fufore Local Government Area.
The swearing-in ceremony, took place at the Council Chamber of Government House in Yola with Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman administering the oath of office and allegiance.
Recalling his administration is all-inclusive mandating all the 21 Council areas must produced woman Vice Chairperson adding that, ushering in a fresh era of leadership was as a result of the death of former Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Babas about two weeks ago.
Governor Fintiri commended Audu’s readiness to lead, calling her a loyal and capable stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Governor noted that her appointment complied fully with constitutional requirements saying his administration’s hallmark of inclusivity, delivering a powerful message.
“In my government, there is no room for religious or tribal bigotry. Fairness is our guiding principle, and it’s the foundation of the peace, progress, and development we see in Adamawa today,” he said.
He encouraged Audu to uphold her oath, engage with all stakeholders, and champion development, unity, and security in the local government and to rally Fufore’s residents to support their new chairperson, whom he described as a “mother figure” dedicated to their welfare.
The Governor said “My six years in office as Governor, I expressed satisfaction with Adamawa’s transformation and confidence in its trajectory. I am firmly believes a successor even better than me will carry this vision forward.
“After thorough consultations, I named Sale Manu as the Vice Chairman, reinforcing the council’s leadership framework.
In her acceptance speech, Hon. Audu described her late predecessor, Alhaji Shuaibu Babas, as a “visionary leader whose grand plans for Fufore will not be forgotten,” lamenting the significant loss his passing represents.
Hon. Audu described Governor Fintiri as her “leader and mentor.”
