The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Taraba State, Hon. Danladi Baido has pledged to established an international Yam Market in Wukari if elected governor of the state.
He made the remarks at an interactive session with various critical stakeholders in Wukari on Saturday night.
According to him, with bountiful yam in Wukari and its surroundings, an international yam market would be ideal and beneficial to the people of the area.
Hon. Baido pointed out that such market would draw people from far and near making Wukari a huge business hub in the state.
The SDP governorship candidate also explained that a skill acquisition centre will be built in Wukari for individuals to have added value even if they acquired higher education so that they would have something to do.
Hon. Baido lashed on the outing administration in the state for taking loans without commensurate development to show for it.
In an answer to a question, Hon. Baido said he will be a no-nonsense as well as a listening governor.
He said his decisions on issues will be very firm but just which many governors lacked leading to breakdown of law and order.
Besides, Hon. Baido explained that he will be a listening governor before taking informed decisions.
During the session, the Idoma Community in Wukari endorsed the candidature of Hon. Baido as their governor of choice.
According to the President of the Wukari chapter, Mr. Reuben Onmoji, the association in Taraba State has agreed to vote for Hon. Baido in the March 11, 2023 governorship elections.
Hon. Baido had earlier commissioned SDP/Ubangayya offices in Bantaje and Wukari towns.
