Hon. Justice Idajili to be laid to rest on Friday at Egume, Kogi State

Justice Stephen Ichado Idajili who served as the chairman of the failed banks tribunal under the leadership of late Nigeria military ruler, General Sani Abacha will be buried in his home town, Egume in Dekina local government of Kogi State on Friday.

Justice Idajili who also served as the maiden Judge of Anyingva High Court and later that of Idah died after a brief illness in Lokoja on April 30, 2024. He was 82.

Meanwhile tribute have been pouring in with the exit of the judiciary great. The deceased sons, Francis Idajili and Sunday Idajili said their father will be missed for his love for fellow beings and his community in particular.

A Lagos-based lawyer, Emmanuel Omajali described the late judicial officer as a mentor who impacted greatly on him and many others in the legal profession.

He added that the Late Idajili was a leading light in the judiciary and he will be greatly missed.

In a similar vein, Alhaji Shaibu Abdullahi, an Abuja-based chartered accountant described the late judiciary icon as one of the most humble and resourceful persons of his time.

He said Egume town and Kogi state and indeed Nigeria as a whole will miss a leader in Idajili.

A special court session was held in honour of Mr Idajili at Kogi High Court on June 12. His burial will take place at his family compound at Efakwu Egume on Friday, June 14.
