GM Zaranda Hotel, Hajiya Abubakar

The Management of Zaranda Hotel Limited Bauchi, has reiterated its zeal and determination towards boosting the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state as well as save the industry from collapse.
The General Manager of the Hotel, Hajiya Hajara Sani Abubakar stated this in an interview with Apex News correspondent in her office in Bauchi.
She commended the transparency policy of the present administration which she intend to emulate and apply in running of the hotel by trying to block all fraudulent acts of the past which affected the industry’s revenue drive and development.
She asserted that the hotel would have collapsed if not for the kind intervention of Governor Muhammad Abubakar, who saved the situation with capital and total renovation to be what it is today.
According to her, the hotel is wearing a new look because of the renovation embarked by the governor.
She said the hotel now could hold conferences, Annual General Meeting, seminars, high-profile weddings, accommodate tourists and chance guests, including political activities of all kinds among others.
Hajiya Abubakar noted that the governor, since inception of his administration has maintained peaceful and harmonious relationship among people in the state through purposeful leadership which encouraged tourism activities in the state for economic growth which we also benefited.
The General Manager commended the efforts of the state government for what she described as good stewardship, foresight, progressive and purposeful leadership of Governor Abubakar that touched and turned around better life to all in Bauchi except for those due to political difference deliberately refuse to see the developmental changes ongoing on in the state.
She said the Governor significantly promoted economic advancement of the state by turning Bauchi into a big construction site through massive infrastructural development and enhancement of intervention in various sectors of human development including the hotel industry.
She pointed out that Governor Abubakar’s over three years in office has also exhibited excellence in road network projects, housing development, urban renewal of major towns and of course youth, sports and women development.
Enumerating some the achievements of the administration, Hajara who thumps up the way and manner the Governor made best use of the bailout funds to settle backlog of workers’ salaries inherited from past PDP administration against other states in the federation that allegedly diverted the facility.
According to her history has revealed that none of the previous governments in Bauchi State has cared for the welfare of the people close to what Governor Abubakar was striving to achieve.
For example, she said, he has sponsored several free medical care schemes to all , secured employment opportunities to the desirables, facilitated admission to tertiary institutions for brilliant children of the poor people, provided economic empowerment to the wretched and is providing qualitative and quantitative infrastructure to benefit the people while maintaining continuous peace and order in the state.
“What else? Who can challenge the giant strides of this illustrious son of Bauchi State? Who else can lay claim to half of what M.A Abubakar has achieved in Bauchi State in times of global recession? Undoubtedly, he remains the political leader of the state,” she noted.
Hajiya Hajara used the forum to call on the listening governor to provide additional funds to enable them purchase more water heating system, modern doors among others with a view to attracts more customers and foreigners coming as observers and monitors for the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.
The GM said “After a diligent appraisal of M A Abubakar’s administration in Bauchi since inception in May 2015, including the uplift of Zaranda hotel to international standards, the entire leadership and followership of Zaranda hotel wishes to identify with the extraordinary performance of the state government in just three and half years of human development, Social reorientation and enabling environment to all Bauchi state residents, and called on the staff of the hotel to always be friendly with their customers and be dedicated to their various responsibilities.”
Other achievements, according to the General Manager, are the maintaining and improving service delivery through aggressive marketing drive, improving cost control without compromising quality, training and re-training of staff, prompt response to guest needs and total commitment to work by staff of the industry.
While calling on women to participate actively in the forthcoming general elections and cast their votes for continuity of APC government, Hajiya Abubakar equally urged husbands to allow their wives to come out for the elections for the good of the nation.
