Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Amos has flagged off the 4th edition of his free medical outreach aimed at improving access to healthcare across the two local government areas.

The programme was launched at the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital, Kafanchan, Jema’a LGA with simultaneous activities at the General Hospital, Gwantu, Sanga LGA.

Officials said the 2025 edition targets 1,200 general surgeries, 400 eye surgeries and the distribution of 3,000 eyeglasses, making it one of the largest medical interventions in the area.

Funded by Hon. Amos at an estimated cost of ₦150 million, the outreach is being implemented in partnership with Graceland Healthcare Foundation and a team of medical professionals and volunteers.

Speaking at the event, Amos said the initiative, which began three years ago, was designed to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved communities and had so far benefited thousands of residents.

Representing Governor Uba Sani, the Director of Hospital Services at the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, Dr Jonathan Gajere, commended the lawmaker, describing the project as consistent with the state government’s health reform drive.

Also speaking, the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, urged residents to make maximum use of the services, saying the programme reflected the dividends of democracy.

The project coordinator, Dr Ibrahim Muhammed, said rural communities including Kagoma, Gidan Waya and Jagindi were among areas to benefit from the exercise, which is expected to last six to seven days.
