Dala Local Government of Kano State is an agrarian area that is participating in the exhibition of its product at the showground in the ongoing National Agricultural Show which opened yesterday in Nasarawa State.

The Local Government showcased arrays of food produce, but what appears more intriguing is the livestock value chain.
Conducting to Apex News Exclusive round the pavalllion Babangida S. Inuwa, Head of Department, HOD, Agriculture and Natural Resources said the local government has established enterprise centers to help train farmers on livestock value chain and other critical commodities produce in the area.

“In Dala Local Government, farmers are mainly involved in food processing. So we have farmers associations that are engaged in food processing. We process maize, wheat, livestock and others.

“Government has also provided them with machines in the Agro Processing Centers. We have many across the LGA. You see the issue of farming now has to do with value chain, and that is exactly what we are doing. We want our farmers to have value on what they produce”, he said.

Explaining how value chain is carried out in livestock Inuwa said, nothing in cow for instance is a waste. “You process cow bones into this form, then you mill it, then it becomes feeds for poultry. In cow, we have the bones, the dry meat, we have the leather, then kilishi all in our livestock value chain. We have all these in large quantity” he stated.
