Hunters, forestry security arrest 150 suspected hoodlums in Bauchi

No fewer than 150 youths suspected to be the hoodlums terrorizing communities within the state capital have been arrested by the Bauchi State Command of Nigeria Hunters and Forestry Security Services .
The Security Command also arrested trucks and buses loaded with bags of charcoal belonging to some various offenders of the State Forests Conservation Act.
The State Commander of the Service, Aliyu Umar Shayi disclosed this in Bauchi while briefing Journalists on the development.
Aliyu Umar Shayi explained that the youths comprising males and females and mostly under the age of 22 years were arrested with dangerous locally made weapons on a trip to Yankari Games Reserve.
According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that while at the Yankari Games Reserve, the suspected hoodlums use the opportunity to interact with their counterparts from neighboring Plateau and Gombe states to restrategise on their unlawful activities
He expressed concern on how some of the restive youths regained freedom after being arrested earlier in the year at Wunti Market in connection with various forms of crimes and criminalities.
The Commander further said that, the suspects would be handed over to the State Police Command for continuation of investigations and possible prosecution.
