Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has reacted to his victory at the Supreme Court on Friday stating that it is a divine arrangement by Allah.

Recall that the apex court in a lead judgment read by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, dismissed the appeal filed by Amb Sadique Abubakar of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking merit.

Mohammed was declared as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State by a seven-man panel of the Supreme Court on Friday in the lead judgment delivered by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa.

In his reaction vide his official X (formerly twitter), the Governor wrote stating that, “In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful, I offer all praises to Allah for our victory. This triumph belongs to the people of Bauchi State and our esteemed party.”

He added that, “On behalf of my family and myself, I express deep gratitude to all our stakeholders who joined us in this journey, particularly our religious and faith leaders, political associates, friends, and well-wishers. This victory reaffirms that the good work in Bauchi State must go on.”

According to him,” My victory today is by the grace of Allah who gives power to whom he wishes and takes it without consulting the holder, and is a reminder that all power is held in trust on behalf of God.

“Now that the judgment has been passed by the apex court, it is my candid opinion that it is time to set aside whatever misgivings we may have and move on,” he said.

Mohammed added that, “The task ahead of us is enormous, requiring unity of purpose, a pooling of resources, integration of talents, and leveraging the unique attributes of each of the contestants, as we seek to create a better society for our people.”

The Governor expressed gratitude to his legal team, led by Chief Chris Uche, SAN, whom he said deserves special mention for always standing by him, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by the state chairman, Alhaji Hamza Akuyam, and all the members who traversed all nooks and crannies of the state, withstanding in the process some of the strongest threats and high-handedness equally deserve his gratitude.
