I won’t hesitate to punish erring teachers, board secretary tells 3233 newly recruited in Taraba

The Executive Secretary, Taraba State Post-Primary Schools Management Board, Elder Danazumi Hassan has said the board will not hesitate to punish any erring teacher found sabotaging government good intention in the state.

Speaking shortly after giving employment to 3,233 teachers in Jalingo Thursday, the executive secretary warned that it was no longer business as usual adding that governor Darius Ishaku’s sacrifice will not be taken for granted.

He said government intention to recruit good number of teachers that have been on rescue service since 2017 was to show a sense of belonging thereby close the existing gapes during period under review.

He also warned them against absconding from duty posts, adding that hanging under tree shades during lesson hours will attract outright sanction.

Danzumi who lauded governor Ishaku for the rare privilege also disclosed that the recent development will boast quality standard of education in the state as majority of teachers have either retired, resigned employments or by account of death.

The executive secretary further hinted that the board will soon embark on visitations to secondary schools in the state for verification of certificates of the newly recruited teachers.

While he enumerated challenges surrendering the entire screening, the board scriber advance misinterpretations by the general public towards the just concluded process as worrisome, saying that recruitment was meant for those teachers on a rescue job and not entirely for fresh ones.

Danazumi also reiterated that the present government gesture of giving teachers employment should not be misconstrued rather deserve applaud, pointing out that it will go a long way to reduce unemployment and insecurity in the society.

The executive secretary in appreciation appealed to the state government to consider principals of various schools with (car loan scheme)  as according to him it will go a long way to improve performance across board.
