Ibrahim emerges new Adamawa NUJ council chairman

Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim of the Adamawa Television Corporation (ATV) has emerged the new Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council.
Ibrahim defeated his closest contender, Fidelis Jockthan of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (Fombina FM) by 123 against 45 votes.
The election was supervised by the Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Comrade Yunusa Abdullahi of the Information Chapel, and 3 other members.
All other positions were filled unopposed. These include, Nuwamayinah Iddah as Vice Chairman, Kisinja Bukar as Secretary, Mary Adamu as Assistant Secretary, Joy Diamond Leka as Treasurer, Owolabi Adenus as Financial Secretary and Hadiza Aliyu Mahmud as Auditor General.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Ibrahim expressed gratitude to members of the union for the confidence reposed in him and his team.
He said the outcome was as a surprise and a testament to his integrity and sincerity of purpose.
Ibrahim pledged to serve diligently and justify the mandate given to him over the next three years.
