The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered an 11kva generator valued at about N6.7 million meant for the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ohita, Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anambra State.
In a statement yesterday, the ICPC Spokesperson, Mrs. Azuka Ogugua, disclosed that a total of 1,251 projects executed in the 2019 and 2020 appropriations have been listed for tracking.
She said they include 1,024 constituency and 227 executive projects.
Mrs. Ogugua said ICPC made the discovery during the ongoing Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking exercise in the State.
According to the Spokesperson, the generator meant for the Primary Healthcare Centre, inaugurated in February 2020, was not supplied by the contractor.
She said the Commission also evacuated medical equipment, valued at about twenty-six million naira, stored in a private warehouse to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta State, pending the completion of a hospital project in Okpoko, Ogbaru Federal Constituency, for which they were meant.
Mrs. Ogugua stressed that public property must be kept in public places and not in any facility belonging to an individual or politician.
