The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has been described as an outstanding traditional ruler whose tenure as the number one citizen of Ilorin Emirate has been of tremendous blessing to the people of the Emirate and Kwara State at large.
This commendation was contained in a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU),Abubakar Imam, on behalf of the National President, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,to commemorate the Emir’s 81st birthday,which holds today Thursday (April 22,2021).
Alhaji Uthman said that the Emir had left no one in doubt about his absolute commitment to the peace and progress of the entire Kwara State and Ilorin Emirate, in particular, before and since he mounted the stool of his illustrious forebears about 26 years ago.
The IEDPU National President also appreciated the consistent support and fatherly advice of the Emir to the Union as he described the foremost jurist as the greatest backbone of the main sociocultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate.
The retired intelligence technocrat appreciated the Emir for always leaving the doors to his palace widely opened to the Union for consultations with or without prior notice,saying that the Emir’s consistently consistent fatherly interventions have facilitated the transformation of the community far beyond what he met on assumption of office.
Alhaji Uthman specifically recalled the roles played by the distinguished Monarch towards the establishment of the rested Ilorin Emirate Palliative Fund through which succour was brought to thousands of ordinary people of the Emirate last year following the eruption of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic as well as the material assistance, running into millions of Naira, which the Emir offered victims of last year devastating rainstorms across Ilorin.
The community leader urged the people of Ilorin Emirate to continue to cooperate with the Emir in his strive to continuously raise the banner of progress of Ilorin Emirate and to ensure that peace prevails within Ilorin and beyond at all times and on all issues.
While wishing the Emir a very fruitful birthday, Alhaji Uthman prayed Allah to bless the Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, with many more years of fruitful services to humanity and Ilorin Emirate, in particular.
